Self-pity

Today I went to the pool. I have not done my best at waking up and swimming in the morning. I was proud of myself because I spent the weekend pretty sick. So I was really happy that I woke up and did not let the lingering sinus issues hold me back.

Watch out when you have that kind of pity for yourself. When you submit your life to the Lord He is faithful to show us to be humble. During the my break between lap 16 and 17 I looked up and just as I did an older woman with two crutches walked in. Soon after I realized she only had one leg. I cannot imagine the courage and faith it has taken her to not take life in stride, but to be proactive and to press forward.

How easily I forget how blessed I am.

Taking a walk.

No matter what vows I make, not matter how much self-discipline I desire, I still cannot make it on here enough to a consistent blogger. I guess that is ok, seeing how I do not really write to or for anyone in particular.

My trip to PK is coming together. After a week or two of phone tag Matt's teacher and I finally got to talk. He is allowing me to come shadow them on Friday, 23 April to get a better understanding of what environment Matt currently is in. He seems to be doing well at present, and the hope is that we can continue that for him once we have left.

So tonight was our weekly house gathering. It happens every Monday night. It was a lot of fun. I spent the weekend in bed (like literally from Friday evening until Sunday afternoon) and took today off to make sure I was better. It was so refreshing to see everyone and to have a wonderfully homemade meal. We had a short night and at the end staff and two of the residents went for a walk. It was so much fun to go on a 30-45 minute walk and to just chat. At the end of the walk it came to one of the girls realization that today marks her 7 months of sobriety! OH MY GOSH!! How exciting is that? I felt so blessed to be there as she realized it as we all were allowed to rejoice with her.

My life is marked in an abundance of blessings. As I reflect on the time that just past I realize that my sins, my life in darkness, sent Him to the cross. I am so happy that I and my sisters and brothers have truly been delivered from that. My heart overflows.
